Following last week’s post, I wanted to share the festive living area and the famous fireplace I had mentioned. 😉
For the living area, I thought it would be fun to create something above the fireplace as it is the main element of the room. I used two battery-operated fairy light garlands and taped them to the wall in the shape of a heart. I also added a garland just above the fireplace and hung snowflakes from it to stick with the wintery theme I know you can’t see them very clearly from the pictures so you’re going to have to trust me on this one. I found some similar snowflakes online if you are interested. I usually hang them on windows using these.
I added a few candles above the fireplace as well (in case you didn’t notice, I am a big fan of candles…!).
To finish off my decor, I added MORE candles (see below)! I find this such a cute way of displaying tea light candles. If you have anything similar to this built in shelf in your home, you should try it (but make sure the candle isn’t too close to the top shelf or this might end in a disaster…).
After dinner, we hung out by the fireplace, drank some bubbles, had a little midnight snack and played boardgames. I know boardgames seem very old fashioned ,but for me, it is the definition of a good night in. We get so competitive (in a friendly way), we always laugh hysterically and overall just have so much fun. Its also a good ice breaker when you are not very at ease with the others around as you really get to bond over it. My favourite game these days is this one. Seriously, if you’re looking for a present for someone, you really should get it (and buy it for yourself while you’re at it!).
What is your favourite board game? Any recommendations?
I hope you have a great week my loves!
P.S. I made a Youtube video of how I decorated this home for Valentine’s Day. Go go go check it out and give me some feedback!
My recommendation would have been Rummykub but you beat me to it ? Such a fun game ? PS love the “Christmas lights”, especially that you made it into a heart… So adorable.
