Refreshing Lemonade Slushies

Hi friends! Its been a little while since I last posted on the blooog… vacation got in the way of things… I really am enjoying my time away in France this month of August. Its been so so hot here in the South these past few weeks! Easily in the 100ºF (high 30º-40ºC) from morning to night! Needless to say, I’ve been a puddle of sweat non-stop for two weeks!

We’ve been making some refreshing drinks all day everyday to cope with the heat, especially when we’ve been hanging out at the pool. There’s nothing better than a dip in the pool and a frozen drink so survive the heat wave. I’m not complaining in the least!

One of the drinks we’ve been throwing together (quite literally actually) pretty much every day is this lemonade slushie, made of 3 simple ingredients:

  • lemons (1 per large glass)
  • ice cubes (1 ice tray per large glass)
  • sugar (10g per large glass or adjusted to personal taste)

Start by peeling the skin off the lemons and as many of the lemon pips as you can – don’t worry, it doesn’t have to be perfect.

Throw the lemon and sugar in the mixer and blend well.

Little by little, add in the ice cubes while the blender is still on.

Blend until smooooooth.

Pour and enjoy! Poolside is optional but be careful about “brainfreezes”! 😉

Also, I recently found these drink floaties (I don’t know how you call them) but they are the best!!! They were £1 at Flying Tiger. Best investment this summer ahaha…

Let me know if you try this! And I’d love to hear some of your favourite summery drinks recipes! We’re in need of variety here!

I hope you’re all having a fabulous Summer and enjoying every minute of it because it really is flying by!
