Hello again, my friends!! Remember me? After a little hiatus I’m back on the blog and I couldn’t be happier!!
Honestly, we’ve been so lucky with the weather so far this Spring here in London. Its been warm and sunny for the past 3 weeks and I am just in the best mood ever!
Because its been so humid, ice cream is highly HIGHLY necessary. 😉 So I decided to throw a little ice cream party in preparation for Summer. (Only 15 more days til Summer!!! yayyy!!)
Also, little side note, you know its hot in London when you go to the store to buy ice cream and all the shelves are EMPTY!
So for the decor, I literally did not spend a dime. I just used coloured paper, sticks, string and printed off a picture of an ice cream cone from the Internet as a model (because I’m the worst drawer) to create these garlands and fun props. Sometimes, we forget the amount of things we can create with what we already own and this is a perfect example.
For the ice cream bar, I tried to mix healthy with less healthy option to please everybody. I had fruit (strawberries, mangoes, coconut and pomegranate seeds), coconut flakes, granola, almond flakes as healthier toppings and all kinds of sprinkles, chocolate buttons, and chocolate sauce to satisfy the sweet tooth out there.
For the ice cream, I used two glass bowls: in the larger one I placed ice cubes in to keep the ice cream as cool as possible while it was out.
I also set up a table outside with similar home-made little props for us to sit down and indulge on the ice cream.
Overall, I kept the table decor simple. Instead of flowers, I put props in two vases and placed marbles at the bottom to hold them in place. I also attached another of my DIY garlands to the parasol.
I placed little placemats and coasters and that was all. All ready to dig in to our feast!
If, like me, you or a loved one has a Summer birthday, I hope this gives you some inspiration to throw a little party! I mean, who doesn’t love something cool on a hot and sticky Summer day, come on. 😉
Have a great week, my friends!
P.S. I promise I will be a lot more constant with my blog posts from here on out!
